The Council oversees promote sport in all areas of the city and provide the means to practice it so that it becomes an essential tool for education, integration and social cohesion. Moreover, it is that sport contributes to the full and harmonious development of citizenship and make possible the comprehensive training, which helps achieve a better quality of life and social welfare.

The Ministry of Sports is working to bring sport and ensure all groups in the municipality: children, youth, adults and seniors, regardless of their physical condition or social sector, through planning programs activities; organization of sporting events both as federated school; the promotion of sports entertainment; the promotion, protection and regulation of sports associations and maintenance of sports facilities in the city.
