Faced with the high temperatures this summer, the City Council has decided to advance the collection and cleaning service to 6 am. This measure has been taken with the aim of guaranteeing the safety and health of workers, who would be subjected to adverse conditions if they carried out their tasks during the hottest hours.
This change may lead to a minimal increase in the noise level in the early morning hours. This is why the City Council is asking for special understanding from the public during this conjunctural situation, since it is considered a priority to protect the cleaning staff against the high temperatures. As for the afternoon schedule, this will not be affected by the adjustment. The staff who work during this shift have air-conditioned vehicles, and although they have to get out of the vehicle to carry out some activities, the exposure to heat is shorter.
Waste collection summer hours
During the summer period, the opening hours of the municipal waste collection will be from Monday to Saturday from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm and from 3.30 pm to 7 pm. There will be no service on Thursday, August 15. The bulky goods service will also not be operational that same day, and the appliance collection service will move to Friday, August 16. During the month of August there will be no mobile garbage service.
