Two new electric charging stations inaugurated

Mayor Lourdes Borrell received on Tuesday 23 July representatives of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona in an institutional visit, with the aim of inaugurating and putting into service two new electric lines in Sant Feliu. These are the stations located at carrer de Jaume Ribes number 5, and at passeig del Comte de Vilardaga number 19.

The commissioning of the two power lines in Sant Feliu is considered to be of particular interest and public utility. According to the vice-president of mobility, transport and sustainability of the AMB Carlos Cordón, these new infrastructures are part of 'an expansion plan in the metropolitan area of the network of stations, which currently has 52, and which we hope that it reaches 102'. Cordón has highlighted the installation of these charging points from the environmental side, ensuring that 'the objectives of promoting sustainable mobility, and favoring the improvement of air quality and moving towards a less polluting space'. For her part, the mayor Lourdes Borrell highlighted the fact of having these new equipments ensuring that 'anyone will be able to charge theirs at street level, since not everyone can have a fast charger in their car park, and also facilitating management via mobile.'

The two electric lines each have 4 fast charging points and 4 semi-fast charging points, with 8 simultaneous charging points in total. A rate is applied that adjusts to the consumption of KW/hour, from 30 minutes in fast equipment, and from 60 minutes in semi-fast. This action is part of the agreement signed on August 30, 2017 between the Generalitat de Catalunya and the AMB, for the development of priority axes 2, 4 and 6 of the 2014-20 FEDER Operational Program of Catalonia, which was object of co-financing through the contribution of European funds, and according to which the AMB proceeded to start the implementation of new charging stations. The electric lines thus become part of the Metropolitan Network of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations . The Sant Feliu de Llobregat City Council joined the Metropolitan Network of Charging Stations by means of the plenary agreement of the session held on April 29, 2021.
