One more year, Sant Feliu was again the stage of the program Yuzz / Explorer ! In this way, the Co-Innova Sant Feliu Building becomes the Sant Feliu Explorer Space, a center that welcomed young talents from the city and its surroundings
This new edition presented a novelty. The Yuzz program changed its name and was renamed Explorer . But, still, the characteristics, conditions and prizes were maintained! Therefore, as in other editions, the participants worked for five months in their social innovation projects, receiving personalized advice and attending classes of networking, business models , creativity and entrepreneurship.
Explorer 2018 ended the victory in Marc Valderrama and its application Able , an initiative that aims to help the mobility of blind people. As a prize for being the winner of the edition, Marc spent a week in Silicon Valley (San Francisco), Mecca of entrepreneurship, where he could present his projects , receive expert advice and attend master classes. In addition, the participant Anna Castilla and her S8 Analytics initiative received the prize Woman Award , awarded to the best project driven by a woman, and Wayuuk were winners of the Disruptive Technology Award , granted to the most disruptive project.
Sant Feliu Explorer 2018 was attended by 33 young entrepreneurs that made twenty projects : Together, BonDiaMon, Artistic Employment Scholarship, Homebag , RadarCar, Able, Presents Cloud, Eh! Winds that Suman, SomMercat, Mirmiki, Linkgua Semantic, Marcel 3D Artist, 3D / 360º BcnArtGalleriesTour, Hero Over, Love Musik, Mara Kereae Personal Care, Tutorials, International Colloquial Documentary on Women Octogenerias, For the Future and CohesionArt.
In order to give visibility to the innovative projects of our entrepreneurs, Sant Feliu Innova obtained that some of the initiatives were presented at the 39th Commercial and Industrial Fair of the Baix Llobregat -fresh of spring of San Feliu- at the Coworking Creus 36 stop.
On this occasion, the Núria Valero , winner of Yuzz Tarragona 2014 and coordinator of Yuzz Sant Feliu 2017, the Mayya Husseini , founder of Foodisms and participant in Yuzz 2017, and the local agent Sergi Moreno , in charge of directing the space Coworking Creus 36 in Sant Feliu, were in charge of carry out the coordination of the program. The team followed the methodologies Lean Startup and Design Thinking .
During the five months, the participants were acquiring knowledge in order to make their projects more viable and profitable. In this way, they could learn from the experience of other entrepreneurs and experts in various fields of the business. This is the case of Consuelo Verdú , who carried out one roadshow focused on the Lean Startup methodology, a model that proposes to always act based on the needs of the client/user. Bibiana Villa, communication expert, discussed the topic of emotional management with explorers as a basic tool for motivation, persuasion, entrepreneurship, productivity and business. For its part, Secotbcn carried out personalized advice by tutors/mentors for each of the projects.
There were 5 months of uninterrupted work and a lot of effort from our participants, whom we thank for involvement and their desire for the entire edition. Explorer 2018 was full of challenges, training, advice, deliveries of work, visits to possible partners, changes in definition ... but there were also five months of evolution and growth for these young entrepreneurs, who started the program with a And they ended the delivery of a business plan defined and the defense of their project before a court.
This year, in Sant Feliu Innova we will enjoy a new edition of Explorer! We have the Patricia del Hoyo , manager of projects of social impact, as coordinator of the Explorer Center Sant Feliu. The Patrícia, together with the workers of Sant Feliu Innova, have been interviewing candidates for explorers in recent months and we already have everything ready to start! Those selected begin training and counseling this January. From Sant Feliu Innova, we would like lots of luck for all the participants in this new adventure and, above all, that their wanted to undertake and co-create translate into growth and evolution to their projects during these months!
